Getting Started with Twinmotion to VR

Step-by-step guide to viewing Twinmotion 360° panos in VR on Meta Quest and SENTIO VR

This guide walks you through the complete workflow for viewing your Twinmotion designs in VR on Meta Quest using SENTIO VR — from exporting 360 panoramas to sharing with clients.

1. Export 360 Panoramas from Twinmotion

Open your 3D modeling software, import your model into Twinmotion, and set up your scene with materials, lighting, and effects.

To create a panorama:

  1. Click Media in the Footer to open the Media dock
  2. In the Media dock, click the Panorama icon
  3. Click the Add Pano icon to create a new panorama from your current viewpoint
  4. Select the panorama thumbnail to edit its visual settings in the Properties panel

Configure your render settings:

  • Panorama type: Choose Standard (mono) or 3D (stereo). We recommend 3D for VR experiences as it provides a sense of depth.
  • Resolution: From 2K (2048 x 1024) to 16K (16384 x 8192)
  • File format: PNG, JPG, or EXR
  • Visual settings: Adjust lighting, refinement, motion blur, and frame rate as needed

Tip: For the best VR experience, use 3D (stereo) mode at the highest resolution your hardware allows. This creates the most immersive experience when viewed in a Meta Quest headset.

For detailed Twinmotion-specific export steps, see the official Twinmotion documentation on creating panoramas.

2. Download Panoramas to Your Desktop

Export your rendered panoramas locally to your PC. In Twinmotion, you can export one or several panoramas at a time.

Supported formats:

  • JPG (recommended — smaller file size, widely compatible)
  • PNG (lossless quality, larger files)

Save the files to a folder on your desktop.

3. Log In to Your SENTIO VR Account

Go to https://app.sentiovr.com/login and log in to your SENTIO VR account.

If you don't have an account yet, you can request a free trial to get started.

4. Create a New 360 Tour

From the SENTIO VR dashboard:

  1. Go to Projects
  2. Click 360 Tours
  3. Click Create New Tour
  4. Give your tour a name (e.g., "Commercial Building - Design Review")

5. Upload Panoramas and Customize Your Tour

Drag and drop your exported Twinmotion panoramas into the tour editor, or click the upload button to select files from your desktop.

Once uploaded, you can customize your tour with:

  • Hotspots — add navigation points so viewers can move between panoramas (e.g., from the lobby to the courtyard)
  • Floor plans — upload a floor plan image so viewers can see where they are in the design
  • Notes — add text annotations to highlight design details or material choices
  • Audio — add voiceover narration to guide viewers through the tour
  • Video — embed video clips within the tour
  • 2D pop-ups — attach reference images, mood boards, or product sheets

Arrange the panoramas in the order you want viewers to experience them.

6. Save Your Tour

Once you're happy with the layout and customizations, click Save to publish your tour. Your tour is now hosted in the cloud and ready to share.

Any updates you make later (adding new panoramas, adjusting hotspots, etc.) are saved automatically and reflected everywhere the tour is shared — no need to re-send links or transfer files.

7. Share a Link

Every tour in SENTIO VR gets a unique shareable link. You can share your tour with clients and stakeholders by:

  • Copying the link and sending it via email, WhtatsApp, or any messaging app

Recipients can view the tour in their web browser on any device — no app or account required for web viewing.

8. View in VR on Meta Quest Using a QR Code or 6-Digit Code

To view the tour in immersive VR on a Meta Quest headset:

  1. Download the SENTIO VR app from the Meta Quest Store (free)
  2. Open the app on your Meta Quest headset
  3. On the SENTIO VR web portal, note the 6-digit access code for your tour
  4. Enter the code in the SENTIO VR app — or scan the QR code — to instantly load the tour
  5. Put on the headset and explore your Twinmotion design in full-scale VR

No PC, no cables, no setup required. The tour streams from the cloud directly to the headset.

Clients and external stakeholders can also view your design using the same 6-digit code or QR code in view-only mode — no SENTIO VR license needed on their end.
