Multi-user meetings for 3D walkthroughs
Meet inside your 3D designs in real-time using the SENTIO VR app for PC & Quest 2 Headsets
Overview
SENTIO VR lets you host real-time collaborative meetings inside your 3D walkthroughs. Whether you're running an internal review or walking a client through a design, participants can join from a Meta Quest headset or a PC and experience the walkthrough together — each represented as an avatar — from their own perspective.
Admin-only featureMulti-user meetings can only be started by an admin using their 6-digit account access code (from the web portal). They are not available from the 6-digit code generated for an individual file walkthrough. If you only have a per-file code, contact your account admin to start the session.
How It Works
The admin host starts a shared session, which generates a 4-digit meeting code. The host shares that code with participants, who join from their own Meta Quest headset or PC. All participants enter the same virtual space, see each other as avatars, and can talk and interact with the 3D model in real time.
You can run a meeting in either of two modes:
- Free Mode (default) — participants move around independently.
- Guided Mode (presentation) — participants automatically follow the host's position.
Step 1: Host — Log in with Your Account Code
Multi-user meetings require the host to be logged in with the admin account code, not a per-file walkthrough code.
- Find your 6-digit account code in your profile on the SENTIO VR website.
- Put on your Meta Quest headset and open the SENTIO VR app — or open the SENTIO VR PC app on Windows.
- Enter your 6-digit account code to log in.
- Select the 3D walkthrough project you want to present.
Step 2: Host — Create the Meeting from the Dollhouse
- The model loads in Dollhouse view.
- Open the VR menu:
- On Meta Quest: press the menu button on the left controller.
- On the PC app: click the menu button in the toolbar.
- Go to the Meeting tab.
- Click Start Meeting.
- A unique 4-digit meeting code is generated for this session.
- Share the 4-digit code with participants (over chat, email, or in-person).
Step 3: Participants — Join the Meeting
Participants do not need an account code — only the 4-digit meeting code from the host. They can join from either device:
- Meta Quest with the SENTIO VR app
- Windows PC with the SENTIO VR desktop app
To join:
- Open the SENTIO VR app and choose Join Meeting.
- Enter the 4-digit meeting code shared by the host.
- Enter your name (this label appears above your avatar).
- You'll enter the meeting in Dollhouse view, represented as an avatar.
Step 4: Talk to Each Other
Voice chat is built in. Once you're in the same meeting, you can hear and speak to anyone else in the session — no separate call needed.
- Speak normally; your microphone is active by default.
- Participants are identified by their avatar and name label.
Step 5: Walk Through the Model Together
Once everyone has joined, the host scales into 1:1 mode to start the full-size walkthrough.
By default, the meeting runs in Free Mode — every participant can move around independently while still seeing and hearing each other.
- Set your eye height in the VR menu so the scale matches your real-world height.
- Use Walk mode to walk through the model naturally, or Fly mode to move quickly between rooms or floors.
- Teleport to a point by aiming with the right controller and pulling the trigger.
Step 6: (Optional) Switch to Guided Mode
Use Guided Mode when you want a structured, presenter-led experience.
- Open the VR menu and go to the Presentation tab.
- Toggle Guided Mode on.
- In Guided Mode:
- All participants automatically follow the host's position as the host moves through the model.
- Participants can still look around freely, but cannot move independently.
- Switch back to Free Mode at any time from the same Presentation tab.
In-Meeting Tools
While the meeting is running, the VR menu gives you a full set of design-review tools that other participants can see and respond to in real time.
Draw
Sketch directly in 3D space to highlight a detail, mark a path, or call attention to something everyone should look at.
Issues & Annotations
Drop a pinned issue or annotation on any element. Notes are saved with the project, so you can review them after the meeting.
Visibility
Toggle the visibility of individual elements or layers on and off — useful for hiding furniture, ceilings, or specific disciplines while you discuss what's underneath.
Return to Dollhouse
You can return to Dollhouse view at any point during the meeting to give participants an overview of the model, then drop back into 1:1 to continue the walkthrough.
Step 7: End the Meeting
- A participant leaves: press the B button on the right controller (Back), then Confirm.
- The host ends the meeting: end the session from the Meeting tab — this closes the meeting for everyone.
